i don’t understand why the government shouldn’t own the banks, at least temporarily.  it seems like the way they are being run now, the government (and my money) take the risk when things are bad, but the banks take the profits when things are good.  that doesn’t make any sense.  shouldn’t the government (and my money) get some of the profit when things are good?  shouldn’t the banks be forced to close up shop and sell themselves to the government when they make bad decisions?

before i had an ipod, i never thought that i would need one. i thought that i would be perfectly content to put two or three albums on my 256 mb mp3 player and swap out the music every other day or so. what do i need thousands of songs in my pocket for when i can only listen to a limited amount of them a day?

then i got an ipod. and boy was i wrong. there is nothing better than to have a song in your head and having the power to listen to that song immediately, no matter where you are. it makes me so happy. this morning i woke up with a song in my head. when i got in the car, i hooked up the ipod to the stereo, threw on the song and rocked out. fuckin’ awesome. then when i got to work i was reminded of another song and wanted to listen to that one and could.

damn are we spoiled. i would be no worse off if i thought of a song, wanted to listen to it, couldn’t, made a mental note to listen to it when i got home, forgot, and didn’t. i would have forgotten about it. i know i don’t need instant gratification, but damn do i like it.

i wish people would realize that “1000’s” is not an appropriate replacement for the word “thousands”.

when going to a public restroom, it’s always nice to sit on a toilet that has blue water in it.  that way you know that you are the first person to sit on it since it was cleaned.
