After just a few hours a Pyrament runway is ready for the heaviest aircraft, reaching a strength that conventional concrete can only match after several days.

Pyrament is one type of a new technology called geopolymers. they harden faster than traditional concretes and to higher strengths. very cool technology.

as an interesting aside, it’s been suggested by one of the main creators of geopolymers that they were used to build the pyramids. even more interesting is that, according to the article:

recent X-ray and microscopic study of samples has supported the theory that the pyramids are made of artificial stone.

in 1650? Bob Dole.” –Jay Leno

google tracked the top searches on election day and analyzed them in blog post. from the post:

As polls closed and the presidential race was called after 11 pm EST for [president obama], people searched for outcomes on state races of interest, such as [al franken senate race], [massachusetts question 2], and [proposition 8] in California.

in case you don’t know, massachusetts question 2 pertained to the decriminalization of a small amount of pot and california’s prop 8 pertained to a ban on gay marriage.

does anyone else think it’s wicked funny that google thought ma’s pot question this important?

what i thought was pretty cool is that it also says what famous people are similiar to you. while i know this is mostly BS because these people almost certainly never took this test, i lilned up with these people:

while this may only be a food accessory, it may be my new favorite food.

it is a plastic ziploc bag filled with marinade. you buy 2-3 pounds of steak tips, toss it into this bag for a few hours or a day, take it out and grill it to perfection. i’ve yet to not love to meat after marinading it in this. it comes in three flavors but i recommend the one pictured above, the honey teriyaki.

learn more about this product here.

and in a funny twist, this tidbit from the FAQs

Is Jack Daniel’s® EZ Marinader® Kosher?
No, currently Jack Daniel’s ® EZ Marinader® is not produced under any rabbinical supervision.

i’m not laughing at kosher food. i’m laughing at “rabbinical supervision”. that’s just a funny phrase. i bet the jack daniel’s people were laughing when they wrote that. i mean, why couldn’t they just have answered the question “no”? nope, they had to go and throw out the phrase “rabbinical supervision”. too funny.
